Google celebrates the winter festivities of December this year with a series of scribbles on a couple of penguin holidays to visit their warm weather relatives.
December’s global festivities mean family and holiday travel, and Google marks the season with a new series of interactive Doodles about a family of birds traveling south.
Two penguins, a “pair of slippery-legged siblings” that were introduced with a set of seasonal sails, are “excited to spend time with their warm weather relatives,” a toucan and a parrot, according to Google. The first installment of the December world holiday series, published today, shows the penguins making plans with their southern relatives and packing their bags for a tropical vacation inside their frozen igloo.
The final Doodle panel includes a past photo of the family gathered, as well as a stack of wrapped gifts that hint at the following installments of the series: December 25, Christmas Day, December 31, New Year’s Eve and, finally, on January 1. 1, New Year’s Day, which will collect the adventures of the penguins as they travel to warmer climates to enjoy together the December global festivities.
