The Superhuman Photorealism of Painter Ben Johnson

The artist Ben Johnson painted all the buildings in the profile of Liverpool in a single image. He painted the 30,000 tiles of the Dome of the Rock, each with seven layers of paint. And he spent the equivalent of 17 years in a work of art.

With dedication, concentration and a self-admitted obsession with perfection and hard work, the British painter Ben Johnson creates detailed photorealistic paintings of architecture and urban landscapes that require an enormous amount of effort and time to complete.
